I've never done yoga before, is it okay to come to classes?
Of course you do! At ALTAR you will find different levels of difficulty in terms of strength and physical endurance poses. You can try the easier classes or even accept a challenge and come to whatever catches your eye even if it is more intense. No class at ALTAR contains 'impossible' or 'crazy' poses that you will not be able to do. In the worst case you will get tired or sweaty, nothing crazy!
I'm afraid to come to classes because I don't know the positions and there are a lot of people around. How many people are usually in classes?
We won't lie. We don't hold classes with 2,3 people, but neither do we hold classes with 30. Although our room is very large and welcoming (120m2), the maximum number of participants in the classes remains 24 to allow for comfortable movement space, privacy and a quality experience. Stay calm, no one has time to look at you, everyone is concerned with their practice. Also, the people who come to yoga are most of the time helpful, rather than judging you, they will help you! :)
What do I need to bring with me when I come to classes?
All you need is a yoga mat and loose clothing that allows you to move freely. If you also have a towel and a water bottle, you're set!
What types of classes do you have at ALTAR?
With us you will find dynamic classes such as Jivamukti, Ashtanga, 4BEAT Vinyasa with music specially created and chosen for these classes, very relaxing static classes such as Yin and Body Reset Breath & Relaxation, and intermediate classes (in between - with simple and relaxing movements but not completely static) such as Kundalini & Gong, and Sunny Side Up.
Can I participate in yoga if I have certain medical conditions or injuries?
It is important to talk to your doctor before starting any type of physical activity. During class, let the instructor know about any medical conditions you may have — we can adapt the exercises to be safe and effective for you.
How often should I practice yoga?
It depends on your goals and your schedule. Even 1-2 sessions per week can make a big difference. If you want faster results (physically and mentally), we recommend 3-4 sessions/week.
Is yoga suitable for men too?
Absolutely! Yoga is for everyone, regardless of gender, age, or physical condition. Many athletes include yoga in their routine for flexibility and mental balance.
How much do yoga classes cost?
We offer several payment options — from monthly subscriptions and class packages to unlimited online access. Find full details in the "Prices" section.
